Hi I’m Giles Porter, the person behind Changes Recruitment. I started in recruitment over 20 years ago. I wouldn’t call it a planned career move, more serendipity, because recruitment just clicked for me. I was drawn to the process of developing relationships with clients and candidates, understanding needs, finding solutions and working to achieve them.
Every CV reads like mini autobiography, it’s great seeing the possibilities. Meeting candidates, understanding their background, how that informs career goals and developing a plan to create the best opportunities.
Each client is different too, established, start-up and everything in between. Some clients know exactly what they are looking for, and for others it’s a learning process. Most of Changes’ clients are smaller so it’s not unusual to provide support working up job and person specifications and giving guidance on salary levels.
The CV and Interview Workshop is a relatively new venture born out of the demand to spend more time working with candidates to improve job hunting process without the pressure of an imminent interview.
