This is the thing I can help you with. As an experienced recruitment consultant with over 20 years’ experience I have interviewed thousands of candidates, reviewed countless CVs and worked with hiring managers to determine person specifications and select staff. I see the hiring process from both the hiring company, the successful candidate, those that didn’t get through the interview and those that didn’t get past the CV selection stage. More than that I find out why a company is hiring and what happened to the last person in the role. I’m in a unique position to apply this insight to the hunt for your next role.

What to Expect

We’ll start with an initial telephone conversation to determine what you would like help with. I’ll outline how I think I can help you, if that sounds good, we set up a meeting, face-to-face, Skype or phone that will last at least 1.5 hours, there’s no time restriction. If needed we can set up another meeting or follow up as appropriate.

The areas I cover include:

  • The CV and application form – Structure, spelling, grammar, accuracy, but also how you pitch that career change, that gap, how you can answer that awkward question before it’s asked. You’re presenting the narrative of your experience, laying the groundwork for …
  • The interview – Preparation, research, decoding the job description, understanding what the person opposite you is looking for and how you can best present yourself. And all those questions, including “Do you have any questions for us?”
  • Job search strategies, salary negotiation, social media, AI/facial recognition interviews, CV parsing software. Returning to work, first job, mid-career, part-time, there’s a route for everyone.
  • If you are looking to make a career change, I can give you an honest appraisal of your experience, approaches to take, mistakes to avoid and possible alternate routes.

I’m confident I can get you to the interview more relaxed, prepared and ready than you’ve ever been.

Pricing

There is no charge for an initial telephone conversation, generally about 10 to 20 minutes to determine what you are looking for help with.

Once we set up a meeting the fee of £170 is payable in advance. Meetings can take place in central London at a location convenient for you or over the phone.
